The tournament was played at the Hyatt Regency hotel in the Dallas-Forth Worth airport, Sept 2-4. Danny Hynes won his second Texas State Open in a row, rolling through the tournament without losing a match and defeating Ehab Shoukry 4-1 in the finals. Anthony Marino lost to Ehab in the semifinals and finished 3rd, followed by Davis Lee Huynh in 4th.

The Colorado State Open was hosted at Splitz Bowling Center in Westminster, Colorado. Jose Mora defeated Davis Lee Huynh 7-3, 7-3, 7-3, 7-3 in the finals to become this year's 2005 Colorado State Open Champion. Davis lost a close 4-3 match to Jose in the winners' bracket finals before defeating Mark Nizzi 4-2. Mike Thomas came in 4th place.

The 2005 Nationals were held in the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. 52 people attended the event, and for a while it looked as if the reign of Danny Hynes was going to be halted, if just for a year. Billy Stubbs made his way to the finals, knocking some of the best competitors into the losers bracket on the way. In the end, though, Hynes was able to Stubbs in the finals, and continue his recent dominance of the sport.

The tournament, which took place Oct. 8th through 10th, 2004 at the Brunswick Zone in Naperville, IL (a nearby suburb of Chicago) was the 40th international-level event sanctioned by the United States Air Hockey Association (USAA). Danny Hynes continued in his winning ways, defeating Ehab Shoukry 4-2 after being down 0-2 in the finals to take home the gold.

Nearly 80 players from all over the U.S. came down to compete, making it one of the largest non-national events in recent history. Danny Hynes continued in his winning ways, having just won the 2001 World Championships in Houston a few months before.

The tournament was a bit unique in that it used the "Swiss" style of bracket for the main event - each player competed in 7 rounds to determine who was eligible for the final bracket. In the end, Danny Hynes emerged victorious.
