The 2009 Russia National Tournament was won by Vadim Chizhevskiy on November 28th. Vadim cleared through the field without losing a set, beating runner-up German Vargin 4-1 in the finals.
The Moscow Open had a surprise winner, as Jairo Correa came all the way from Venezuela to play and eventually win in the event. He defeated German Vargin in the finals 4-0, 4-2, after losing to German in the winners' bracket finals 4-1.
