It is going to be a nice accomplishment to make it to the top 10 in this tournament.

All of the following players have the skills to do so:

Billy
Danny
Ehab
Davis
Nizzi
Tim
Brian
Jose
Pedro
Wil
Keith
Travis
Albert
Q
Dan
August
Pete
Mike C.
Evan
Syed
Anthony M
Nick
Joe

So that is 23 players fighting for the TOP 10.
The top 4 are playing at a higher level than the others,

So.....taking Billy, Danny, Ehab, and Davis out of the equation, the other 6 spots and 19 players.

Pedro and Wil are wild cards, since we do not know how they are playing.
Jose and Anthony do not practice. Their motto: no defense, a lot of offense.
Tim is playing very good right now, but is it enough to beat one of the top 4?
Brian and Keith beat who they are supposed to beat (most of the time) but cannot break through with an upset anymore. They are also very susceptible to being upset themselves.
Can Q keep it up, even now that players will be ready for him?
Can Dan squeeze in the top 10 with just a Cut and RWU attack?
Nizzi is always a mystery. Has great potential at times.
Can Travis put enough players to sleep with his slow and deliberate play to be in the top 5 or 10 again?

The rest are all wannabes. Which one of them are practicing, which one of them is ready to beat an established master? Pete, Albert, Syed, August, Mike C. etc...are their defenses good enough to handle the established masters? Have their offenses started using enough delays yet to break through the master defense?

So after all that, here are my predictions for the top 10 in no particular order:

Ehab
Billy
Danny
Davis
Tim
Pedro
Jose
Brian
Q
Keith

I hope you know something we don't. Nizzi, Wil, Davis and Joe are not registered for this event.

How did Ramiro fall off of this list? He's your practice partner. Is there something we don't know? Also, up to now I have not broken the top 20 so my odds of making the top 10 have to be a little higher. I probably won't be the first Cummings to break the top 10 in the coming years. My days are numbered and my boys can only move up! The youth players will be dominating this sport in the coming years!

Mike:
You are right, I did forgst about Ramiro. So that makes 24 players to fight for the top 10.
Also, give yourself credit. You are capable of pulling off an upset, your skill level is increasing everytime I see you play. Colin and Connor will get their spotlight later. :)

In Vegas, I think I heard Joe say he's not attending the tourney in Houston.

It sounds like Wil is going to make the tourney - which is awesome.

Nizzi and Davis haven't 100% commited yet, but they'll most likely make it. This has a chance of being one of the best fields in a long long time.

Goran Mitic sent me a text this weekend that said he'd be at the Houston tournament. That's one more name to add to the list. There are going to be some great players not finishing Master. Some may be in the 13-16 bracket or lower.

Don't do it fellas, I've been there and it ain't pretty.

9-12 spinoff is going to be like a war.

No weak field here...this is a great tournament to peak at. ;)

Syed,

Thanks for omitting me from the list of potential top 10 finishers. Should we meet up in Houston, I'll keep it in mind.

Happy Fourth of July to the Airhockey Nation. 3 weeks from today, the Tables will be delivered to the site of the UNAP Airhockey World Championships. There is a lot of practicing going on and some very high expectations! Whether you are from Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Ohio, California, Venezuela etc. this is going to a be a battle weekend with great airhockey. Prediction lists of the potential top 10 has more than 25 players on the list. With that information, we knowing there are a LOT of people that won't make the top 10 that have the ability. There will be some very disappointed players finishing somewhere around 25 or 30 when they expected to finish top 10! DON'T LET THAT BE YOU!!!! Get ready: 3 weeks and a day til the battles begin!

I predict I'll be flying in to Houston that Thursday night (i actually just booked my ticket) :) Look forward to being there at this great tournament. Now my doubles partner, Davis, needs to book his ticket too. C'mon Davis, you gotta be at this tournament man, c'mon! The sport needs you, you better be there! :)
